Springtime Is Time to Walk The Dog...

Time to get out and enjoy the weather. Part of that, at least for us here in New England, is taking ours dogs for an evening stroll, bicycling, and just spending more time outdoors. Cabin fever dissipates as we rediscover our own neighbourhoods.

As spring unfolds, many of us seem to forget about outdoor safety. After all, being in our homes for several months does offer a type of "secluded comfort". Let's not forget that now we expose ourselves to the outside influence of others both good and not so good. In the spring, drivers are re-learning how to look out for motorcycles, cyclists, pedestrians , and so forth.

Many times during the outdoor season we find ourselves outside into the evening hours. It is during this time that we more frequently read about avoidable roadside accidents involving people crossing the road, police officers getting getting hit during traffic stops, children on bicycles and other sad stories that make us ask why.
